More than a Lobby: space rooted in community

When you step into my lobby at Satori Counseling, I hope you feel an immediate sense of calm and welcome. My lobby isn’t just a place to wait—it's intended to be a reflection of what I value: growth, connection, and community.

You’ll find a cozy bookshelf with a small sign that reads, “Books are meant to be shared. Take one for now. Leave one when you can.” It’s my take on a little free library—something not typically found in a therapy office, but placed with intention to make the space feel open, warm, and inclusive. Whether you’re a friend or family member waiting on someone in therapy or you’re there for yourself, you are welcome to browse the books and let one find its way into your hands. Linger, flip through a few pages, and take a story with you if it feels right.

The wall decor is the handiwork of a local artist, and the lobby has no shortage of plants—this brings a bit of my personal flavor into the space. Showcasing local art is one small way I support and stay connected to the creative voices in our community. Both art and greenery are gentle reminders that beauty, creativity, and life are always growing around us.

In the lobby I also keep a community bulletin board filled with updated resources and upcoming local events. Whether it’s a mindfulness class, a support group, or a free community activity, I share anything I believe could support well-being outside the therapy room. These kinds of resources are more than just helpful—they’re essential to maintaining mental and emotional health. A therapy space is the perfect place to connect people with additional opportunities for healing, growth, and community.

My hope is that Satori Counseling offers more than a therapeutic service—it offers space where people feel supported, connected, and part of something meaningful. Healing starts with feeling seen, and community is a big part of that.
